A new residential development set amongst mature trees in a flood-free area in the
middle of Jakarta. Thomas Elliot, the architect of the project, aimed to recreate
the communal atmosphere of a village in a location that provides easy access to the
main office areas and to educational facilities. Tenants of Residence 28 can enjoy traditional-village-style living in a secure, landscaped environment, with all the conveniences of the city available right in front of the compound’s gates.
The individual units are accessible by car from the rear. They enclose a central area, which features a clubhouse, a fitness centre, a swimming pool, a playground and a barbecue pit. Because this area is car-free, children are able to play safely.
All of the three-and-a-half-storey homes have either three or four bedrooms and a two- or a three-car private garage. An expansive open-plan living area, which includes the kitchen and dining room, takes up the ground floor. This includes a sunken family area that opens onto a deck and features high ceilings and plenty of natural light. The upper ground floor contains two bedrooms and a mezzanine, which is open to the living room below.
